by Ddx11

The Banished, a Forge mod for 1.20.1, brings a mythological storyline into Minecraft through gods, a Cleric trade, new ores and blocks, and a set of boss-style encounters.

What it does

The story begins with ancient civilizations living under gods who were worshipped across the lands, before greed led to a sealing and the Void consumed the old powers. The Banished return to the world later, and the mod builds its progression around that conflict. A Cleric villager offers a trade for 32 emeralds and one wither skull in exchange for a Thanatos Heart, which leads into the first encounter with Thanatos, son of Death, before the path reaches Apollyon.

Gloomy Metal is found between levels 0 and 35 underground, surrounded by a new stone block. Voidstone can be used for decorative blocks, and Gloomy Metal blocks resist explosions. Banished Slaves can drop Disgusting Meat, which can be eaten or used to brew a Void Bottle at a brewing stand with Honey Bottles. A Banished Slave Skull combined with Gloomy Metal makes a Forgotten Music Disc.

The mod is Server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything, and it does not need Fabric API or any other dependency. Its files target Forge for 1.20.1. The mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
