Tetra Nova: Mythic Mobs

by Blackknight

Tetra Nova: Mythic Mobs reworks the mobs of a Forge world, adding stronger elite, master, lich and overlord versions of the vanilla creatures.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Vanilla mobs can be turned into improved variants, with elite, master, lich and overlord tiers that raise their threat. Mobs that take part in the transformation receive a mythic tag, and the mod lets a server owner choose which vanilla mobs are eligible, or add new mobs to the system or remove existing ones. The tier chance is set as a percentage through a configurable game rule, so difficulty can be tuned for a world without editing code.

Loot tables can be configured per mob, which lets a server decide what an improved creature drops. Because the mythic system is built on shared tags, other mods that add mobs can usually be used alongside it. Geckolib must be installed on the same side as the mod, and Just Enough Items (JEI) is optional, for browsing recipes and items in-game. The mod runs on both client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Elite to overlord tiers

Vanilla mobs gain elite, master, lich and overlord versions with stronger stats and new behavior.

  2. Mythic mob tag

A tag marks transformed mobs and decides which vanilla mobs are eligible for the transformation.

  3. Configurable tier chance

A game rule sets the percentage of spawned mobs that become mythic, so difficulty is adjustable.

  4. Per-mob loot tables

Loot tables can be configured for each mob, so improved creatures can drop different items.
