Tarnished is a Forge minigame for Minecraft 1.20.1 in which an omnipotent demon stalks the player once it is added to a world named Tarnished.
What it does
The demon appears in worlds named Tarnished and watches the player from a distance, waiting for a moment to strike. It mainly spawns behind the player and follows them until the right opening, then it can snap the player's neck. It vanishes from sight when the player tries to catch it, and it keeps returning. It can also appear through ceilings underground, jumping at the screen and grabbing the player.
When it catches the player, a quick-time event minigame begins in which the player must drag away from the demon. Doors, the end of a bed and the edges of the screen can also be used by the entity to peek through. The entity is a new mob added by the mod, and its sounds and animations are built from MCreator and a set of licensed sound effects.
Installation needs Geckolib and playerAnimator, and the mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 1.0.8 as the latest file. The mod is not open source and is released under All rights reserved.
