Swimmingly
Swimmingly extends fishing in Minecraft with new rods, fish, loot and progression tied to exploration, and it needs Polymer and filament to run.
What it does
Swimmingly adds fishing progression through exploration. Rods come in a series that starts at wood and climbs to netherite, and the fishing rod recipe calls for flint. Thirty-eight new fish and other sea creatures are tied to specific biome structures, so a trip to a given location can yield catches that are not available elsewhere. Fishing-related advancements track these steps for the player.
Fish traps catch fish passively once placed, which lets a base gather a steady supply without a player at the water. The mod also redoes the fishing loot tables and the fisherman villager trades, and the fishing bobber has a new texture. Polymer and filament are required dependencies and must be installed alongside the mod.
Swimmingly is published for Fabric and Quilt, with a data pack option for servers. Only the server must run the mod for players to benefit from it, while clients may add it as well. The code is licensed under the MIT License, but the project is not open source. Files cover 1.21.11 and 26.1 – 26.3, with 1.2.2+mod for 26.3 as the latest Fabric file and 1.2.1+mod for 26.3 as the latest Quilt file.
