Stuttering Screen Protection
by neojaden
Stuttering Screen Protection watches the frame rate in Minecraft and reacts to short stutters and long freezes that disrupt play.
What it does
The mod monitors the game's FPS and protects the player from sources of frame drops. Brief stutters lasting about 0.25 seconds are handled, as are severe continuous freezes. When the frame rate falls sharply, the mod is meant to reduce the impact so the screen stays usable. It is designed for players who notice significant slowdowns during play.
An optional on-screen display can be toggled with the command lagprotection-hud true or false, and it is on by default, so the current FPS is always visible unless it is switched off. Stuttering Screen Protection is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Installation is required on both sides.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 17 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.1.2. The code is licensed under the MIT License, and the project is not open source.
