Structure Item Mod

by QuImUfu

Structure Item Mod lets an item placed by right-click spawn a structure, with its position and orientation set through NBT tags on the item.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.16.5 – 1.21.4

What it does

The mod adds an item that places a structure where it is used. Placement is controlled by NBT tags on the item, so a modpack creator can give players a way to spawn custom structures. Options cover the offset from the clicked block, the direction the structure faces, whether it is centred above, below or beside the clicked face, and whether it is rotated.

Placement rules are set with allow, block-list and replacement settings. A whitelist can be used in place of a blacklist for replaced blocks, and when both are given the blacklist takes precedence. Entities can be saved with the structure or left out, and non-structure voids can be filtered. The item needs Fabric API to run, and it is published for Fabric only, across 1.16.5 – 1.21.4. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the mod runs on client and server.

Key features

  1. Right-click placement

Using the item on a block places a structure at the clicked position, with no command needed.

  2. NBT-driven options

Offset, rotation, block rules and entity handling are all configured through tags stored on the item.

  3. Offset and centring

The structure can be placed beside, above or below the clicked face, centred on that face.

  4. Block and entity rules

Blacklists, whitelists, replacement and entity saving decide which blocks are replaced and which entities move with the structure.
