Structory

by Stardust Labs

Structory adds ruins, towers, cottages, graveyards, settlements and boats to worlds that generate with it, through a datapack updated each season.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalCustom license1.19 – 26.3

What it does

The structures are generated by a datapack, so the world must be generated with it to receive them. Season 1 added the Mangrove Ruins in swamps and the Taiga Ruins in colder climates. Season 2 added the Harvest update, with the Old Manor and a rare Graveyard that can be found when a player wanders far from the spawn area.

Structory works alongside most worldgen and structure datapacks, and it can be added to an existing world, though its structures only appear in chunks that generate afterwards. Seeds can be checked for structure placement with jacobsjo's Minecraft Datapack Map.

Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and as a data pack, across 29 release versions. The license is custom and the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Biome-specific ruins

Ruins change with the climate, so a swamp and a taiga produce different variants of the same structure type.

  2. Settlements and cottages

Villages of small buildings, cottages and boats add scattered points of interest to the surrounding land.

  3. Graveyards

Rare graveyards appear in the terrain, giving exploration a less common destination.

  4. Seasonal updates

New structures and story details arrive in seasonal updates, most recently the Harvest update.

Use cases

Exploration on a survival world

A player walking away from spawn can reach ruins, towers and graveyards on a map with new structures.

Who it’s for: Server owners who want more generated structures in a world, and players who explore to find them. Single-player worlds can use it as well, since the datapack is loaded with the world.

Questions

Does Structory need to be installed on the client?

No. Only the server has to run it, since players can join a server that runs it without installing it themselves.

Can Structory be added to an existing world?

Yes, but its structures only generate in chunks that were not yet created when the datapack is loaded.

Which loaders and versions does Structory support?

Files exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, plus a data pack, across 29 release versions. The latest file is 1.3.18+26.3 for 26.3.

Structory is one of 8,515 World generation mods on ModsFinder, and one of 4,027 World generation mods for Fabric. 8,071 mods support Minecraft 26.3.

What the author says

Structory is a seasonally updated, atmospheric structure datapack with light lore, including ruins, towers, cottages, graveyards, settlements, boats, and more. Season 1 brought the Ruins update. Deep inside the swamps, the Mangrove Ruins can be found... but if you dare venture into a colder climate, you may stumble…
