akkamaddi's Sterling and Black
by Sinhika
akkamaddi's Sterling and Black gives silver a pair of alloys, Sterling Steel and Black Silver, with armor and tools that keep silver's enchantability.
What it does
Sterling Steel is a stronger alloy than standard silver, and it trades only a little enchantability for a large gain in durability. Black Silver is a slightly stronger component that gains a higher enchantability, and it uses Onyx as a source. Both alloys can be made into full sets of tools and armor, and their armor and tools keep a slightly higher enchantability than the plain silver versions. Armor made from either alloy looks like iron equipment with a blueish tint.
The mod is an add-on for SimpleOres, and it needs Fusion and SimpleCoreLib to run. SimpleOres and Zot's Only Silver are optional, and Zot's Only Silver is recommended as the source of silver. Installing Zot's Only Silver also enables special silver-only enchantments. Released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, the source code is public and the project is open source. It is published for Forge and NeoForge, across six release versions 1.7.10 – 1.20.1, and it runs on client and server.
The original module was written for Minecraft 1.7.10, and later ports followed. The current build targets 1.20.1, and the author took over maintenance after the original add-on was abandoned. The original permissions are recorded in the linked Minecraft Forum thread.

What the author says
This is a port to 1.14.4 and later, of the Sterling and Black module of akkamaddi's Additions from 1.7.10. See that article for original permissions and Minecraft Forum thread links. The mod (an add-on for Simple Ores) was originally written by akkamaddi, and then abandoned; I took up maintenance of the mod after that.
