Starter Cabin

by Kuzhizaizheli

Starter Cabin places a player-built structure near spawn in every new world, so new players start with a prepared building.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Players build a structure, mark where new arrivals should appear with a Spawn Carpet, then save the selected area as a template with a sneak and right-click on a block. When a new world is created, the mod searches for a suitable flat spot near spawn and places the saved building there, with the carpet becoming the spawn point. The building is generated only once per world, and deleting the world data forces regeneration.

The Building Saver is a carrot-on-a-stick styled tool that selects the area to save, and a marker block records the spawn point. The marker is removed after saving, which is configurable. If the placement looks off, the placementSearchRadius option can be raised and maxSurfaceVariation lowered to widen the search and accept flatter ground.

Starter Cabin is published for Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. It runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Saved building templates

A selected area is stored as a template and reused for every new world that generates.

  2. Automatic spawn placement

The mod looks for a flat location near spawn when a world is created and places the building there.

  3. Spawn carpet marker

A Spawn Carpet defines where players appear, and the marker block that records the point is removed after saving.

  4. Building Saver tool

A carrot-on-a-stick styled tool selects the area to save, with a sneak and right-click on a block to set its corners.

Questions

Does Starter Cabin have to be installed on both sides?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Does Starter Cabin work on both Forge and NeoForge?

Yes. Files are published for both loaders, with 1.0.1 for 1.20.1 on Forge and 1.0.1 for 1.21.1 on NeoForge.

Why does the building not appear in an existing world?

The building is generated only once when a world is created. Deleting the world data forces regeneration.
