Findme:salvation

by Kuzhizaizheli

Findme:salvation changes how tamed mobs behave, including the taming conditions, riding effects and movement states of mobs across the game.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Taming rules are set per mob. Modpack authors can unify the conditions for vanilla and other modded mobs, decide whether the original mod's taming stays in use, allow both sets of rules, or disable taming completely so the systems coexist. A Taming page in the mob manager selects the taming method, and mobs are looked up by their registry ID such as minecraft:spider.

Mobs that could not be ridden in vanilla gain a rider seat once this mod is installed, and one creature can alternate among walking, flying and swimming modes. Riding in vanilla is blocked by Shift because Shift already descends, so the mod asks for a dedicated dismount key. A client command, salvation editor, opens the configuration screens. Findme:salvation runs on Forge and NeoForge, is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code is public. Client and server both need the mod, and files exist for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Per-mob taming rules

Taming conditions can be customized for each mob, or unified across vanilla and other modded mobs.

  2. Riding and movement states

Mobs that cannot normally be ridden gain riding, and one mob can move on land, in the air or in water.

  3. Sacrifice taming condition

A Redemption Sacrifice condition can be set so a mob is locked until its health falls below a specific threshold.

  4. Protection for owners

Tamed mobs are set not to harm their owner, the owner's companions, faction or allies.

Use cases

Modpack configuration

Modpack authors can set taming and riding for each mob, following the configuration steps in the mob manager.

Who it’s for: Modpack authors and server owners who want to control how mobs are tamed and ridden, and who can work with a dedicated dismount key instead of Shift.

Questions

Does Findme:salvation need to be on the client?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Which loaders does Findme:salvation support?

The mod is published for Forge and NeoForge. The latest Forge file is 1.0.2 for 1.20.6, and the latest NeoForge file is 1.0.1-hotfix2 for 1.21.1.

Can taming from another mod be kept alongside this one?

Yes. The mod can let its own taming and the original mod's taming both apply, or disable taming so the two systems coexist.

What the author says

Note: While riding, the vanilla Shift dismount is blocked because Shift is used for descending. Please use the dedicated dismount key. When the Redemption and Sacrifice taming condition is enabled, the mob will be locked at a specific health threshold – it will be fixed in place, and its AI/gravity will be paused.
