Spineless
by rosarian
Spineless lets players strip the spines from cactus and eat cactus flesh, changing how cactus works as a food source.
What it does
Cactus is prickly to touch, and Spineless makes it usable as food. A stripped cactus block yields cactus flesh, and cactus flesh can be eaten raw or cooked in a smoker. Cooked cactus flesh gives more nourishment than the raw item, so cooking is the better route for a food source. Spines are obtained once the cactus is stripped, and they make a reliable fuel that burns for a long time, with many spines coming from a single cactus.
Spineless requires Fabric API and runs on the client and server, so both sides need it. It is published for Fabric only, for 1.20 – 1.21 across four release versions, with the 1.21 build as the latest file. The code is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license.

Eating cacti is also very simple- you can craft the stripped cactus block into 4 cactus flesh items, and they…
