Song Sounds
by YTG1234
Song Sounds turns note blocks into song makers, letting players compose tunes that play back through the note block sound.
What it does
Song Sounds changes how note blocks behave so they can hold a full song rather than a single pitch. A player arranges notes across the block grid and the result plays back as a sequence. The mod is a Fabric library for players who want music built from the blocks themselves, and it is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only as open source code.
Installation requires Fabric API alongside the mod. Song Sounds runs on the client and server, so both sides need it. Builds cover game versions 1.16.2 – 1.16.5, with 4.1.0 for 1.16.5 as the latest file from 2021-01-04.
Key features
Full-song note blocks
Note blocks are extended so a single block can carry a whole composed sequence instead of one note.
Song playback
Composed songs play back through the note block sound, so the output stays in the vanilla instrument style.
Block-based composition
Notes are arranged across blocks, giving players a way to write music directly in the world.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
