Snowy Spirit
With Snowy Spirit installed, players can ride Sleds across snow, carry chests on them, and find winter-themed structures in the world.
What it does
Sleds curve around the terrain they cross, so they climb and descend slopes more smoothly than boats do. Going downhill, a Sled gains speed, which makes ski courses practical. Storage containers placed on a Sled, such as a chest or a Shulker Box, add inventory space for the rider.
Snowy Spirit also adds winter and Christmas-themed blocks and decorations, and a configurable Winter Time period, which by default runs from December 20 to January 30. Igloos can generate with an extra Sled that carries a chest of winter loot, and baby villagers from Taiga and Tundra throw snowballs at entities they see. Moonlight Lib is required and must be installed alongside the mod.
Snowy Spirit is installed on both the client and the server, so the server and every player need it. Its files cover 1.18 – 1.21.1 for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the code is not open source. The license is All rights reserved.
Key features
Curving sleds
Sleds follow the shape of the terrain, so they move over slopes that would stop a boat.
Downhill acceleration
A Sled speeds up on a descent, which allows ski courses built from snow and ice.
Sled storage
Chests and Shulker Boxes, along with other compatible storage containers, can be placed on a Sled to carry items.
Wolf-pulled sleds
A tamed wolf on a lead pulls a Sled with more mobility and speed, and it loses little momentum on climbs.
Sled customization
Carpets placed on a Sled stop freezing when it rides over powdered snow.
Configurable winter period
The Winter Time period and most blocks and items can be adjusted or disabled in the configs.
