Smooth Container
by Itamio
Smooth Container removes the freeze that appears when a chest, hopper, barrel, furnace or shulker box is opened, because the screen renders at once instead of stuttering.
What it does
Opening a container normally causes a pause of roughly 100 to 300 milliseconds while the inventory screen loads. Smooth Container changes how that screen is drawn so it appears immediately. Vanilla storage and crafting blocks are covered, including anvils, and so are many modded storage blocks that draw their screen through the standard GUI.
The mod only alters how the container screen is drawn. It does not touch gameplay container mechanics, item interactions, rendering pipelines or shaders, and its config files add almost no overhead of their own. Players install it, but a server can run without it, so it also works on multiplayer servers that lack a copy. It is compatible with Sodium, OptiFine and Iris. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with source code and an issue tracker published. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across five game versions: 1.12.2, 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.11 and 26.1.2.
