ClickOptimizer

by Mami137

ClickOptimizer, a Fabric mod, tracks mouse clicks at the render-frame level so that fast clicks are not lost to the game's 20 TPS tick.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.4 – 26.3

What it does

Vanilla Minecraft reads mouse and keyboard input inside the 50 ms game tick, so several quick clicks within one tick can be merged or dropped. ClickOptimizer instead captures left and right clicks at the render-frame rate, which follows the displayed FPS. The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need it and players join without installing anything extra.

The mod requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric only. Its files cover 20 release versions, 1.20.4 – 26.3, with 1.0.0 as the latest file for 26.3. Compatibility with Sodium, Iris and other performance mods is noted by the author. ClickOptimizer is released under the MIT License and the source code is public.

Key features

  1. Render-frame click capture

Mouse clicks are captured per rendered frame instead of per game tick, so a click is counted even when several happen within one 50 ms window.

  2. Real-time CPS counter

A HUD displays clicks per second for the left and right buttons, with color coding, and can be toggled in game with the H key.

  3. Zero input loss goal

The mod is built to make sure no physical click goes unrecorded, tracking exact left and right click rates.

  4. Works with other performance mods

The author lists compatibility with Sodium, Iris and other performance mods, since ClickOptimizer only changes how clicks are read.

Use cases

Fast clicking games

Players who click rapidly in games or mods that depend on click speed can rely on the render-frame capture to count every press.

Measuring clicks

The CPS counter lets a player watch clicks per second while practicing or testing a clicking speed.

Who it’s for: Players on Fabric who notice that very fast clicks are missed in vanilla Minecraft, and players who want a visible clicks per second readout while playing.

How it compares

Full comparison

FPS-Sync is a Fabric client-side mod for 1.20.1 – 26.3, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it limits frame rate rather than reading clicks. Input Optimizer is also client-side, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and covers 1.21.11 – 26.2, so it targets a shorter version list than ClickOptimizer.

What the author says

Have you ever felt like Minecraft ignores some of your extremely fast clicks? You are not crazy, it actually does. In Vanilla Minecraft, your mouse and keyboard inputs are bottlenecked by the game's internal 20 TPS (50ms) tick loop. If you make multiple fast clicks or flick your mouse rapidly within a single 50ms…
