Simplified AI Logic
by Gvoper
On the server, Simplified AI Logic swaps the costly behaviors of mobs for lighter, configurable routines.
What it does
The mod rewrites the AI of peaceful, hostile and optimized mobs so each group uses lighter behavior. Peaceful creatures walk only when a player has looked at them for nine seconds, and they stop random wandering. Fleeing follows a straight line instead of complex pathfinding. Hostile mobs acquire a target instantly within a 40 by 25 block radius, which removes the search step they normally run.
Mobs are split into three configurable lists, so server owners can decide which groups receive the simplified logic. Mobs on the optimized list lose random strolling, while still keeping special abilities such as taming, riding and following an owner. A default configuration is generated on first launch. The gain is a minor TPS improvement, and the author suggests pairing the mod with Mob Collision Off for stronger results, since that mod removes mob-to-mob collisions.
Installation needs Architectury API on every loader, and Fabric API on Fabric. Simplified AI Logic runs on the server only, so players join without installing it. It is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and all rights are reserved, so the code is not open source.
Key features
Simplified peaceful AI
Peaceful creatures walk only when looked at for nine seconds and stop random wandering, with straight-line fleeing.
Instant hostile targeting
Hostile mobs acquire a target at once within a 40 by 25 block radius instead of searching through pathfinding.
Three configurable lists
Peaceful, hostile and optimized mobs each have a list, so server owners choose which groups get the simplified logic.
Ability-preserving optimization
Optimized mobs lose random strolling but keep taming, riding and following the owner.

How it compares
Random Mob Drops changes drops rather than AI, runs on client and server, and is published for Fabric and Forge across 1.20.4 – 26.1.2, under All rights reserved. Peaceful Nights is a server-side mod licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, open source and built for 1.20.1 – 1.21.5 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Collision Fix is client-side only, open source under CC0 1.0 Universal, and covers 1.20 – 26.2, so it targets the collision issue that Simplified AI Logic leaves alone.
