SimpleMimics makes server-side player copies called mimics, which take on a player's skin, nametag and voice through Simple Voice Chat.
What it does
Mimics copy the skin and nametag of a player, and their voice clips can be relayed through Simple Voice Chat, which the mod requires. The mod is built for small groups on a server, and it needs some extra setup before it works, so it suits friends who play together more than a solo world. Simple Voice Chat must be installed alongside it on every side that uses the voice features.
The mod can also let mimics change the items inside chests. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, all for 1.21.1, with 1.4.1 as the latest build released on 2026-09-21. The code is covered by a custom license and is not open source.
Compatibility notes in the author text confirm the mod works with Essential for skin changing, and that it does not cause issues with Sable. Create Aeronautics is also listed as compatible.
