Simple Voice Chat Commands

by IV12

Simple Voice Chat Commands is a Fabric add-on that lets players mute others, adjust per-player volume and control their microphone through quick chat commands.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.11 – 26.2

What it does

The add-on sets client-side commands that call the existing local controls of Simple Voice Chat, such as the microphone, per-player mute, per-player volume and deafen. A player can run them from the chat box without opening the settings menu. Changes made through the commands only affect what that player hears, and they do not change other players' settings on the server.

Simple Voice Chat must be installed, since this mod does not add voice chat of its own. Because the commands act only on the client, the mod works with vanilla servers, and the server does not need it. Other players still need Simple Voice Chat for normal voice chat to work. Files are published for Fabric only, for two game versions: 1.21.11 and 26.2, with 1.0.1+26.2 as the latest file, released under the MIT License. The project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Quick mute command

A chat command mutes or unmutes a chosen player's voice, without opening any settings screen.

  2. Per-player volume

Commands set how loud a specific player sounds to the local client, using Simple Voice Chat's own volume control.

  3. Microphone and deafen controls

Commands switch the local microphone and deafen state, so a player can cut their own audio or silence incoming voice quickly.

  4. Local-only changes

Settings applied through the commands stay on the client and leave other players' settings unchanged.

Use cases

Muting a disruptive player

A player in a busy voice channel can silence one person from the chat box while staying in the call.

Adjusting loud voices

Someone whose neighbor is too loud can lower that player's volume on their own side only.

Who it’s for: Players who use Simple Voice Chat on Fabric and want fast voice controls in chat. Servers that run vanilla do not need the mod installed, but each player who wants the commands must install it.

Questions

Does Simple Voice Chat Commands require Simple Voice Chat?

Yes. The mod depends on Simple Voice Chat being installed and calls its existing local controls, so it cannot run without it.

Do the server owners have to install the mod?

No. The environment is client-side only, so a vanilla server runs without it, but other players still need Simple Voice Chat for voice chat to work.

Which game versions have files for this mod?

Builds exist for 1.21.11 and 26.2 only, all on Fabric. The latest file is 1.0.1+26.2 for 26.2.
