Simple Plates

by Rubii

Simple Plates adds plain plates to Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, in a vanilla-like style that players can place and use for food and items.

ForgeClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.01.20.1

What it does

Players craft the plates with a bowl and place them in the world. Each plate can hold one stack of items, and the mod keeps room for more slot types later. Items are put on a plate and taken back by right-clicking it. A tag-based item blacklist lets server owners decide which items a plate refuses, and the mod works in both single-player and multiplayer.

The mod is published for Forge only, with a single build, 1.1.0 for 1.20.1, released on 2026-03-19. Client and server both need it, so every player who joins a server running it has to install it too. Its license is Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0, which allows free use in a modpack when the author is credited, and the code is not open source. Public source code and an issue tracker are available.

Key features

  1. Vanilla-like plates

Plates are added in a plain style that matches the look of the base game.

  2. Single-stack storage

Each plate holds one stack of items, which keeps the mechanic simple to use on a table.

  3. Right-click interaction

Items are placed on and taken off a plate by right-clicking it.

  4. Item blacklist tag

A tag-based blacklist controls which items a plate will not hold, so server owners can restrict its use.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge who want a simple plate block for holding food or items. The plates use a Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, so commercial use is not covered.
