Shut The Noise Up!

by SmartStreamLabs

Shut The Noise Up! is a client-side utility that switches off menu music and the narrator at game startup, so a launch is quieter and faster.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

On launch, the mod turns off the loud menu music and the narrator, which otherwise start playing as soon as Minecraft opens. Players who start the game often, or who repeatedly disable music and narration while testing mods and modpacks, can skip that step each time. Mod creators and modpack developers working in IntelliJ or other development environments may find the faster, quieter startup useful.

Only the client needs the mod, so servers and other players run without it. It is built for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.8, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2 and 26.2. The builds cover 1.20.1 – 26.2, and the code is released under the MIT License, so it is open source with a public source repository and issue tracker. The mod is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Key features

  1. Menu music off at startup

Menu music is disabled automatically when the game launches, so no loud track plays on the title screen.

  2. Narrator off at startup

The narrator is turned off during launch, so accessibility speech does not start by itself each time.

  3. Quicker launches

Skipping the music and narrator at startup removes that work from each launch, which shortens repeated test starts.

Use cases

Testing mods and modpacks

Developers who launch the game many times can stop the music and narrator from interrupting each test run.

Quieter daily play

Players who dislike the loud menu music can start Minecraft without it every time.

Who it’s for: Players who find the menu music or narrator jarring at startup, and mod creators and modpack developers who restart the game often while testing.
