Shots Fired
With Shots Fired installed, every shot from a TaCZ weapon leaves an empty casing drop behind, and the item dropped and the ejection motion can be set in config.
What it does
Each time a gun from the TaCZ mod fires, the mod drops a casing item at the weapon's position. The drop is controlled by a config entry that pairs a TaCZ gun ID and its NBT data with the item to drop, so any gun can be linked to any item. Out of the box no casing has a use yet, since the author plans a separate mod, Create: Mass Munitions, to supply recipes for them.
The second config governs how each casing leaves the gun. Displacement can be set on all three axes, the arc of the ejection can be rotated around all three axes, and its power can be adjusted. A mirrored option that would eject casings to the left for left-handed guns is mentioned as a possible future addition. The author suggests a command that reads the full NBT of a held item, which makes it simpler to find a gun's data for the config.
The mod depends on TaCZ for anything to happen, so TaCZ must be installed alongside it. It is published for Forge only, across 6 release versions, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.
Key features
Casing drops per gun
Each TaCZ gun can be assigned its own drop item through a config entry that names the gun ID and NBT data.
Configurable ejection path
Casing displacement, rotation on three axes and ejection power are adjustable in a second config.
Any item as a casing
The dropped item can be any item ID in the config, including vanilla items, so modpack makers can choose it.
NBT lookup command
The author recommends a held-item NBT command when filling in the config, which shows a gun's data without guesswork.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Modpack configuration
Modpack makers can set a casing item for each gun and tune how the casings are ejected.
Pairing with a crafting mod
Shots Fired supplies the drops, and a separate recipe mod can turn them into materials.
Who it’s for: Modpack creators and server owners who run TaCZ and want casing drops from its guns, and players willing to edit a config file to set them up.
