Shared Hits

by SametHope

Shared Hits makes damage taken by one player apply to the other active players on the same server, through a gamerule.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.4

What it does

The mod adds a gamerule that, when enabled, shares the damage a player takes with the other active players. Each player receives the same damage source, attack type, direction and amount, so one hit lands on everyone at once. The option is server-side only, so players join without installing anything, and it works on single-player integrated and LAN servers as well as dedicated servers.

Only players in survival mode are affected. Spectators and creative mode players are ignored by the sharing. The gamerule is changed with operator permission level 2 or higher, the same way as other gamerules. Shared Hits is published for Fabric and runs on Minecraft 1.21.4, and it works alongside vanilla damage handling, shields, knockback resistance and status effects. The author describes the mod as a simple Fabric mod that also syncs health between players.

Shared Hits is released under the MIT License and is open source. The source code and issue tracker are public. Latest Fabric file is 1.1.1 for 1.21.4, published 2025-03-02, the same day as the first release.

Key features

  1. Shared damage gamerule

A gamerule shares damage taken by a player with all other active players on the server when enabled.

  2. Same damage source

Each affected player receives the same damage source, attack type, direction and amount as the hit player.

  3. Survival-only sharing

Only survival mode players take part; spectators and creative mode players are ignored.

  4. Health sync

The mod also keeps health in step between players, so the shared damage shows the same value on every side.
