Server Redstone Block
by meza
Server Redstone Block adds a block that behaves like a regular redstone block, with its power level changed by the server to warn contraptions before a restart.
What it does
The block is crafted from a regular redstone block and a lever. It outputs 15 power in its default state, and server administrators can switch it to 1 power or 0 power to signal that a shutdown is coming. Contraptions that react to those power states can finish their work and settle before the server stops, which avoids the broken machines that restarts often leave behind, such as minecart-based and flying machines.
The block is meant for scheduled restarts. Server operators are advised to place automation that issues a warning about five minutes before a restart, then another roughly one to two minutes before, so contraptions have time to shut down gracefully. The block starts in its on state each time the server boots. Changing it requires permission level 4, and a player who uses the block sees the same behavior as a normal redstone block.
Fabric API is required on Fabric. The mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player install it, and the server must be set up to trigger the state changes. It is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering 1.18.2 – 1.21.4 across ten release versions.
Key features
Redstone-compatible block
The block acts like a normal redstone block for players, so existing contraptions and recipes keep working.
Three power states
Output is 15, 1 or 0 power, and the server switches between them to signal an upcoming restart.
Startup reset
The block always starts in its on state when the server boots, so a restart does not leave it stuck.
Anonymous telemetry
The mod collects minimal anonymous telemetry to support decisions about maintaining it, and the author lists what is collected.

What the author says
Ever had redstone contraptions break on you due to a server restart? This block acts as a normal redstone block but the server admins can trigger a warning state and an off state at will. This can give time for the contraptions to shut down gracefully before a server shutdown.
