SerilumSpawnTweaker
by settingdust
SerilumSpawnTweaker changes where players appear when they first join a world, and it works alongside Serilum's spawn point mods.
What it does
The mod tweaks the spawn point logic of Serilum's spawn mods. Vanilla Minecraft always places non-adventure players on the surface of a dimension that has skylight, which can leave players far from anything they can use. The tweaks adjust that choice so the spawn can land somewhere else.
Spawn selection covers biomes and villages. Biome search can pick a random candidate from the possible biomes it finds nearest, and a blacklist keeps the spawn out of villages. Structures can center the spawn point instead of using the y=0 surface, which lets it work with underground villages. Biome positions can be used in place of the surface, which lets it work with cave biomes.
The mod is a server-side addition and needs no installation on player clients. It is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, with every release built for 1.20.1. Biome Spawn Point and Village Spawn Point are optional and extend the spawn tweaks. The author notes that a standalone mod is needed to spawn players on non-surface locations.
Key features
Biome-based spawn search
The spawn search lists the possible biomes nearest the player and picks one of them at random.
Village blacklist
Villages that are found can be excluded, so the spawn point does not land inside them.
Underground and cave spawns
A spawn point can be centered on a structure rather than the surface, or placed at a biome position for cave biomes.
Compatibility with Biome Spawn Point
The author fixed a compatibility bug between SerilumSpawnTweaker and Biome Spawn Point on Fabric.

Use cases
Spawning in caves
A server owner who wants new players to begin in a cave biome can use the biome position option.
Avoiding villages
A server where players should not start beside a village can add those villages to the blacklist.
Who itβs for: Server owners who want to control where new players appear on a world, especially in worlds that use Serilum's spawn point mods.
