Sea Creeps

by gavmods

Sea Creeps adds water-dwelling creepers to the ocean, along with three alternative explosives and a set of decorative heads and trophies.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Sea Creeps turns the ocean into a source of danger by placing creepers that live in water. They spawn in ocean biomes and make the open sea a riskier place to cross, which the author describes as a way to change the vanilla experience. Scared cats and axolotls react to them, and a fisherman villager sells the wet and frozen gunpowder the mod introduces. Geckolib is required, and the mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it.

Three new explosives are added: Wet TNT, which places a layer of water and explodes a few seconds later at about half the power of normal TNT, Frozen TNT, which places a small wall of packed ice, and Scorched TNT, a stronger version of regular TNT. Sea creeps can drop heads that can be crafted into wall-mounted trophies. The package also includes 12 decorative blocks, heads and trophies, with compatibility for Biomes O Plenty.

Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1, 1.20.4 and 1.21.1. The latest Forge file is 1.2.6 for 1.20.1, released on 2026-01-06, and the latest NeoForge file is 1.2.5 for 1.21.1, released on 2025-02-13. The code is released under the MIT License, but the mod is not open source.
