SDM UI Lib

by Sixik

SDM UI Lib is a client-side library for building Minecraft interfaces, providing drawing, widgets and rendering helpers for other mods.

What it does

The library gives mod developers tools for drawing screens: colors given as channel values, primitive shapes such as triangles, squares and circles, and rendering of items, entities and blocks inside a GUI. Elements can be positioned with rotation, scale and render priority, and containers can animate the elements they hold. A set of ready-made widgets is included, and objects can be scattered across a region with varied positions and sizes.

The author describes the library as a replacement for FTB Library within the SDM mods. It is distributed for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.19.4, 1.20.1, 1.21 and 1.21.1. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy. The source code is public.

Key features

  1. Color support

Colors can be given as alpha-aware or plain channel values for use in interface elements.

  2. Drawing primitives

Triangles, squares and circles can be drawn directly in a GUI as building blocks for custom screens.

  3. Transform and priority

Interface elements accept rotation, scale and render priority, which controls their drawing order.

  4. Rendering game objects

Items, entities and blocks can be rendered on a GUI, for previews and displays.

  5. Animated containers

Containers can animate the elements placed inside them.

  6. Random placement

Objects can be placed within an area at random positions, rotations and sizes.
