Sculk Awakening: recoded

by artmar09

Sculk Awakening: recoded introduces a sculk infection that spreads through the ground from roots players place, and it is built for Forge on 1.19.2 and 1.20.1.

What it does

Sculk roots placed by a player start an infection that moves outward underground and assimilates nearby blocks over time. The author describes the spread as slower and more deliberate than the infection in Sculk Horde, following the bioweapon lore of the setting rather than a chaotic take-over. Roots that are not active stay dormant until the player chooses to activate them, so a world is not overrun by default.

The author warns that placing many roots at once creates a heavy load on the server, and suggests placing only the roots that are needed. Sculk Awakening: recoded needs Forge and is published for 1.19.2 and 1.20.1. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The code is not open source, and the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Underground infection spread

The infection travels beneath the surface rather than across it, so its growth is visible mainly through the blocks it changes.

  2. Dormant and active roots

Roots stay inactive until activated, which lets a player decide when and where the infection starts.

  3. Block assimilation

Nearby blocks are gradually converted as the infection grows, forming sculk patches in the affected area.

  4. Load-aware placement

The author advises against placing many roots at once, since large numbers cause lag on the server.

What the author says

This mod adds sculk infection to minecraft, but unlike "Sculk Horde", this infection is bio-weapon (in lore, like FIS), and it spreads underground. Also this mod has very cool assimilation. You can start the infection by placing dont chaotic root, and waiting for the roots to active. Dont place a lot of roots, this…
