What it does

Scope is a client-side zoom mod for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Zoom is handled by a custom expression parser, so the zoom curve and factor can be set by formula rather than picked from a fixed list of options, which lets players build zoom behavior to their own taste. Scope started as a fork of OkZoomer v4 and went through several rewrites before reaching its present form, drawing some inspiration from Zoomify and Barrel Roll.

Each loader build depends on its own libraries. Fabric builds need Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin, Forge builds need Kotlin for Forge, and every build needs YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) for its settings screen. Mod Menu is optional on Fabric and adds a configuration entry point. Files target 1.19.2 – 26.3 across 15 release versions, and the code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Programmable zoom

A custom expression parser lets the zoom factor be defined by a formula, so the behavior is not limited to preset values.

  2. Configurable options

Zoom settings are exposed through YetAnotherConfigLib, so players can change them without editing files by hand.

  3. Lightweight design

Scope is built as a small utility that adds only the zoom behavior and its settings screen to the game.

  4. Optional Mod Menu entry

On Fabric, Mod Menu can open the Scope settings from the mods list when it is installed.
