Saro´s Clearlag

by Sarocesch

Saro´s Clearlag is a Forge server-side optimization mod that clears lag-causing entities on a timer, with warnings and filtering for each category.

What it does

Servers running Saro´s Clearlag can clear entities automatically at a set interval, anywhere from 30 to 3600 seconds, and can enable or disable the clearing at any time. Before a clear, a configurable warning message alerts players, and the timing of those warnings can be adjusted. Commands used to control the mod require OP level 2 operator permissions.

Entity selection works through a blacklist or whitelist mode, so server owners decide which entity types are removed and which are protected. Entity categories that can be cleared include dropped items on the ground, hostile mobs such as zombies, skeletons and creepers, thrown items like arrows and snowballs, boats, minecarts and experience orbs. The mod also supports entities added by other mods, and it works on both vanilla and modded servers.

The mod runs only on the server, so players join without installing anything. Files are published for Forge, with builds for 1.20.1, 26.2 and 26.3, and the latest file is 1.0.2-forge-26.3 for 26.3, dated 2026-09-22. The code is not open source, and the project is distributed under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Automatic entity clearing

Entities are removed on a repeating schedule, which keeps lag from piling up between manual cleanups.

  2. Pre-clear warnings

A configurable message tells players that a clear is coming, so they have time to pick up items or move.

  3. Blacklist and whitelist filtering

Server owners choose between blacklist and whitelist mode to control exactly which entity types are cleared.

  4. Protected entity types

Specific entity types can be kept from being cleared even when the rest of their category is removed.

  5. Clearable entity categories

Dropped items, hostile mobs, projectiles, boats, minecarts and experience orbs can each be included in clearing.
