Ropeworks
by elandria.
Ropeworks, from elandria, adds anchors that stretch ropes, chains, cables, tinsel and bunting between two points in a build.
What it does
Players place anchors in the world and link them with a rope tool, which lets several ropes or chains connect to a single anchor. Rope and chain lines can be tightened with a sag modifier, adjusted by shift-clicking with the rope tool. Right-clicking a tinsel anchor with an empty hand changes its colour, and bunting anchors cycle through their sets when shift and right-click are used. Anchors placed on a block face remain attached to that block, and removing it takes the anchor with it.
The mod is aimed at builders who want additional detailing for ships, tournament grounds and decorative scenes. The config file sets a maximum distance for anchored lines; the default is 400 blocks, and the option is changed by editing the generated config after running a world with Ropeworks installed. Because the mod is entity-based, the developer warns that large numbers of anchors placed in a small area can cause lag. Bug reports are collected by the author, and the textures are 32x32 in this beta release.
Key features
Rope and chain anchors
Anchors come in four rope thicknesses, three chain thicknesses and a cable anchor, for varied detailing.
Tinsel and bunting
Tinsel anchors offer nine colours, and bunting anchors come in seven sets with a bunting decoration.
Linking and sag
One anchor can hold several ropes or chains, and each line's sag can be changed with the rope tool.
Crafted in survival
Anchors and the rope tool are crafted at a stonecutter, so they can be obtained in survival.
