Road to Evolution
by JorisSid
Road to Evolution is a Forge Cursed mod for 1.20.1 in which eating a forbidden fruit starts a multi-stage evolution that players must end by defeating the Ender Dragon.
What it does
Once a player eats the new Forbidden Fruit, the character enters an evolutionary state that the author describes as effectively degenerative. Each ten-minute interval moves the player to the next evolution step, which adds two status bars, and the path runs through six stages altogether. Evolution ends when the player defeats the Ender Dragon, at which point the status bars disappear. Players and server owners can start and end an evolution with the startgame and stopgame commands, and the clear command removes the status bars.
Each evolution stage carries timed penalties on the player. Blindness and Slowness effects grow stronger and longer as the stages advance, with lengths of 4 to 10 seconds, and standing up after them lets blood flow recover within a span of 20 to 40 seconds. The mod is a Cursed addition for 1.20.1 on Forge and is meant to run on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Its required dependencies are bendy-lib and playerAnimator, and it is released under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source.
