ReturnByDeath
ReturnByDeath changes what happens on death in a single-player world: instead of respawning, the game reloads the last save point.
What it does
When the player dies, the world is reloaded from the last save made when the player left the world, so the run rewinds to that point. Dying does not end the world; it sends the player back in time. The mod works in single-player only and does not function on multiplayer servers. Installation needs Fabric; the environment is client and server, and the MIT License applies to the code, which is open source.
Key features
Reload on death
Dying reloads the world from the last time the player exited it, instead of respawning at a bed or spawn point.
Save on exit
The game only stores progress when the player leaves the world, so the rewind point is the most recent exit.
Respawn sound
A distinct sound plays when the player re-enters the world after a death, marking the rewind.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.

What the author says
So, this mod makes it so when you die, you go back in time to the last place you were when you exited the world. That’s it, that’s the whole idea. (+that "Whaaeeeuuuu" sound when enter world and respawn sound and you died) Basically, the game only saves when you exit the world.
