Respawn Points
by k1r1enko
Respawn Points lets server administrators define custom respawn locations for survival worlds and PvP servers, grouped so players return to different points.
What it does
Administrators create respawn points with commands and assign them to named groups. After a death, a player is revived at a random point drawn from the group that is currently active, which makes respawns less predictable in PvP battles and minigames. Groups can be switched, so one server can run several respawn sets and change between them as the match or world needs.
The mod works on multiplayer servers and in single-player worlds. Its data is saved automatically, so groups and their points persist after a game server restart. Respawn Points is server-side only, meaning players join without installing it, and it requires Fabric API. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and is published for 1.20.1 alone, with a single Fabric file, 0.1.0, released 2024-08-28 on the alpha channel.
Key features
Custom respawn points
Points are set in the world and used as places where players return after dying, replacing the default spawn.
Command-based management
Commands create, edit and remove respawn points and add new points to specific groups.
Multiple groups
Points can be organized into several groups, and the active group can be switched to change where players respawn.
Randomized selection
Once a player dies, the server places them at one of the points in the currently active group, chosen at random, so each death can end somewhere different.
Compatibility

Use cases
PvP servers
Server owners can place points around arenas so players that die re-enter the fight at unpredictable locations.
Minigames
Switching groups between rounds lets a minigame change its respawn layout without rebuilding anything.
Who it’s for: Server administrators who run survival or PvP servers and want control over where players respawn, and players of those servers who see the result.
How it compares
Randomized Respawn is server-side only, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and published for 1.20.1. Random Respawn is also server-side only and open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.19.2 – 1.21.1. ArenaCore is client and server, under the MIT License, and is not open source.
