ResourcePackDirectory
by Gahaha
ResourcePackDirectory lets players point Minecraft at a resource pack folder anywhere on disk, rather than the default resourcepacks directory inside the game folder.
What it does
Normally resource packs must sit in one fixed folder. This mod changes that folder to any location the player chooses, and the change takes effect without restarting the game. A settings screen reached from the Mods list in the main menu handles the directory, so no configuration file needs editing by hand.
The mod is useful for players who run Minecraft through a third-party launcher such as MultiMC, PrismMC, LunerClient or FeatherLauncher, where packs are often kept in a shared location. It needs Mod Menu, which must be installed alongside it on Fabric. It is published for Fabric and NeoForge, and the code is not open source; the author holds all rights reserved. Files cover 1.21 – 26.3 with 17 release versions, and the latest builds target 26.3.
Key features
Custom resource pack directory
Resource packs can be loaded from any folder the player sets, instead of only the default one.
Change without restart
Switching the directory takes effect in the running game, so there is no need to close and reopen Minecraft.
In-game settings screen
A simple interface inside the game handles directory management, reached through the Mods menu.
Launcher instance support
Players using external launchers can keep packs in one shared folder that each instance reads from.

Use cases
Shared pack folders
Several launcher instances can read the same resource pack folder rather than copying packs into each one.
Who it’s for: Players who manage many resource packs or use a third-party launcher, and anyone who wants packs stored outside the game folder.
How it compares
Screenshot Location is open source under the MIT License, client-side only, and published for Fabric and NeoForge across 1.21.1 – 26.3, changing where screenshots are saved rather than resource packs. Resourceful is also open source under the MIT License, client-side only, and limited to Fabric for 1.21.11 – 26.2. Simple Resource Loader is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, runs on Fabric and Quilt, and is either side optional across 1.21 – 26.3.
