Reinforced Tools

by MDoot21

Reinforced Tools lets players upgrade existing tools with a Smithing Template, turning iron, netherite and steel tools into sturdier variants.

FabricNeoForgeQuiltClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 1.21.1

What it does

The upgrade works through a Steel Upgrade Smithing Template, found in Weaponsmith chests. Applying it to a regular tool produces a reinforced version. The mod covers a range of reinforced iron and reinforced netherite tools, and a new steel tool set crafted from iron, coal and steel.

Reinforced tools are described as lasting about twice as long as their non-reinforced counterparts, with a higher mining speed. A separate obsidian tool line is crafted from obsidian shards and thick sticks; these tools are less durable than diamond but deal more damage, and they have reinforced variants too. Reinforced Tools needs Fabric API on Fabric and Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) on Quilt. Both sides must run the mod, so servers and players alike install it.

Builds are published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21 and 1.21.1, under the MIT License as open source. The source code and issue tracker are public.
