Region Selection Viewer

by _EugeneFitz_

Region Selection Viewer draws the bounds of a WorldEdit or Axiom selection so a builder can check a large build against its region.

What it does

The mod is a Fabric client mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 that shows the outline of a selected region in the world, which helps when a build spans a wide area and the edges are hard to judge by eye. It was made for a personal large-scale building project and then released to other builders.

Region Selection Viewer works alongside WorldEdit CUI and Axiom, and it can be paired with Xaero's Minimap or Xaero's World Map to display selected regions on the map. Axiom Pilot, Item command viewer, Redstone Essentials, Display Entity Studio and Zones are other mods that cover related ground, each with different loaders, versions or sides.

Servers do not need it; each player installs it for their own game. It is released under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source. Files exist for 1.21.11 only, and the latest Fabric build is 0.0.7-alpha+1.21.11, published on 2026-06-05 on the alpha channel.

Key features

  1. Polygon region outlines

Selected polygon regions are drawn in the world so their edges can be followed while placing blocks.

  2. Overlap check

Parts of a build that sit outside a WorldEdit region are made visible, so stray blocks can be found.

  3. Map display

Selected regions can be shown on Xaero's Minimap or Xaero's World Map when those optional mods are installed.

  4. Frequent region switching

Regions can be switched often during a build, so each boundary can be verified in turn.

Questions

Does Region Selection Viewer need Axiom or WorldEdit CUI?

No. Axiom, WorldEdit CUI, Xaero's Minimap and Xaero's World Map are optional dependencies, and the mod works with either or both of the selection tools.

Which Minecraft versions does Region Selection Viewer support?

Files exist for 1.21.11 only, so the mod cannot be used on other game versions.

Is the server required to run Region Selection Viewer?

No. It is installed on the player's side alone, so servers need nothing.
