Reflex AntiLag
by Tythee
Players with a GPU bottleneck get a smaller input delay from Reflex AntiLag, a client-side mod that paces frame submission to the GPU.
What it does
When the graphics card is the limit, vanilla Minecraft lets the CPU run well ahead, so draw calls queue one to three frames deep in the driver. The mod puts the CPU to sleep at the start of each frame and wakes it just as the GPU becomes idle, so the finished command stream is submitted at that moment. The queue empties, and input is sampled as close to display as the hardware allows, without a loss in frame rate.
The mod is client-side only, so players install it and servers need nothing. It requires Cloth Config API. Builds are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the Fabric and NeoForge files cover the 26.x releases up to 26.3, with the latest Fabric file dated 2026-10-09. The Forge line targets 1.20.1 and later releases. The code is closed, under All rights reserved, and the source is publicly linked.
Key features
Queue drained to zero
Command submission is aligned with GPU idle time, cutting the driver backlog to a sub-millisecond error.
Input sampled after sleep
The sleep happens before input polling, so the first action after waking is reading the mouse.
Timings from live measurements
Pacing values come from measurements taken during play, so no manual constants need to be set.
F3 pipeline timing graph
The F3 screen charts each stage of the frame and shows a signed alignment error for how closely pacing landed.
Vendor-independent pacing
The pacing works on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel hardware under both OpenGL and Vulkan.
