What it does

The mod addresses a frame pacing regression in 26.2 where the game stutters under heavy GPU load, reported on Nvidia and Intel hardware. It is built from a single mixin and is mostly noticeable when shaders are active, on the OpenGL path. Integrated Sodium support has existed since version 0.9.2, and the author notes that the idea was not taken from Sodium.

Key features

  1. Frame pacing fix

Corrects uneven frame timing that appears under heavy GPU load in the 26.2 build.

  2. Shader-focused effect

The improvement is most visible with shaders enabled, where GPU load is highest.

  3. Minimal footprint

The whole change is a single mixin, keeping the code small and simple to follow.

What the author says

FramePace is an extremely simple, 1 mixin mod for Fabric and NeoForge. It fixes a new performance regression in 26.2 where the game has horrible frame pacing when the Nvidia or Intel GPU is under heavy load. This is mostly visible with shaders and only happens on OpenGL.
