Real Peaceful Mode

by Viola-Siemens

Real Peaceful Mode changes how monsters behave toward players, using missions, structures and characters added to the vanilla world.

What it does

Monsters in the base game attack players indiscriminately. Real Peaceful Mode gives players a mission system: they explore unusual structures, speak with a character to receive a commission, and complete it by defeating hard enemies or gathering treasures. Once a commission is finished, the monster it concerns stops being aggressive toward the player. The Key M screen lists active missions and shows what comes next.

Beyond the missions, the mod brings in more than ten kinds of structures and nearly ten kinds of living creatures, along with dozens of blocks. Its aim is a world where monsters and players can coexist, with fighting kept as one option rather than the only route. It runs on Forge and NeoForge, and both the server and every player need it, since the mission and monster behavior is handled on both sides. Files are published for 1.20.1, 1.21 and 1.21.1, and the mod is open source under the MIT License, with public source code and an issue tracker.
