RankTiers

by RankTiers

Players who want rank prefixes beside usernames can use RankTiers, a Fabric utility that draws tier tags on nameplates and in the tab list.

FabricClient or server, optionalISC License1.21.4 – 1.21.11

What it does

RankTiers attaches a rank to each player by linking their UUID to a rank record, then renders the matching prefix above the player and in the tab list in real time. A tag such as Tier 1 Elite Champion appears as soon as the rank is assigned, so a player's skill level or role within a lobby can be recognized at a glance. The mod is aimed at competitive PvP communities and private survival servers that run a tiered ranking system.

Rank data and local settings are kept in simple, readable configuration files. The author notes describe the mod as a client-side cosmetic utility with no server-side files required, and it works on either side, and neither side needs it. It is published for Fabric only, across eight release versions 1.21.4 – 1.21.11, under the ISC License, and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Dynamic tier tags

Custom rank labels, such as Tier 1 or Elite Champion, are drawn directly on nameplates and in the tab list.

  2. Custom prefix styling

Colors, formatting and bracket styles for each tag can be set so the prefixes match a community's look.

  3. UUID-based rank records

Each rank is tied to a player's UUID, so the assigned tier stays with that account.

  4. Readable configuration

Rank databases and local settings live in plain config files that can be edited without special tools.

  5. Low-overhead rendering

Tags are drawn with a focus on frame rate, and the author states that they remain sharp at all times.
