Quick Stack
by Itamio
Quick Stack moves items from a player's inventory into nearby containers with a single key press, sending each stack only where a matching item already sits.
What it does
Pressing the V key sends matching items from the inventory into containers within 8 blocks by default, which covers the storage room a player stands in. Only stacks that already exist in those containers are filled, so unrelated items stay in the inventory and do not clutter chests. Containers it can fill include chests, trapped chests, barrels and shulker boxes.
The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it while the server owner adds it. It is published for Forge 1.12.2 only, with a single file, 1.0.0, released on 2026-04-03. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the project has public source, an issue tracker and a wiki.
Audio and on-screen feedback confirm each transfer, with a sound and a message that names what was stacked. Lists of items such as cobblestone, iron ore and coal are typical targets when a player returns from a mining trip.
Key features
One-key stacking
A single press of V transfers matching items from the inventory into every nearby container at once.
Smart matching
Only item types already stored in a container receive new stacks, which keeps unmatched items in the inventory.
Multiple container types
Chests, trapped chests, barrels and shulker boxes all take part in a quick stack.
Sound and message feedback
A sound plays and an on-screen message lists what was stacked, so the result is visible right away.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Returning from a mining trip
A player who carries cobblestone, iron ore and coal back to a storage room can empty the inventory in one press.
Who it’s for: Players with storage rooms of chests or barrels who want to avoid moving items by hand, and server owners who want a lightweight storage helper that players do not need to install.
How it compares
Iron Chests (with Netherite Chest) is also a Forge 1.12.2 mod that is open source, but it is a client and server mod under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and adds new chest blocks rather than moving items. Chest helper is client-side only and covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21.1 – 26.2, under All rights reserved, so it runs only on the player's side.
