Qolify

by slushie0

Qolify is a Fabric client mod with small quality-of-life changes, including zoom, fullbright, a hotkey and extra labels, all active without any server-side install.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.3 – 1.21.1

What it does

Qolify groups several small changes that adjust how the client displays information. Status effect timers appear on screen, chat can be moved above the armor bar, and food items show their hunger and saturation values in tooltips with their names. Shulker box tooltips reveal their contents, enchantment descriptions are expanded, and sheared sheep take their accurate colors. An item stitching fix corrects how certain textures join together.

Only the player needs the mod, because every change happens on the client. Fabric API is required, and Mod Menu is optional; when it is present, Qolify gains compatibility with its settings screen. Files are published for Fabric only, covering 1.19.3, 1.19.4, 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2 and 1.21.1, with 1.6.0-1.21.1 for 1.21.1 as the latest build. The project is open source under the MIT License, and its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Status effect timers

Remaining durations of active potion and status effects are shown on screen while they last.

  2. Chat above the armor bar

The chat window can be moved so that it sits above the armor bar instead of covering it.

  3. Food value tooltips

Food items display their food names and the hunger and saturation values they restore.

  4. Shulker box tooltips

Hovering over a shulker box shows the items stored inside it, so the box does not need to be opened.

  5. Enchantment descriptions

Enchantments on an item show descriptive text that explains what each one does.

How it compares

Full comparison

Cinar's Utilities is a Fabric client-side mod, open source under the MIT License, with files for 1.21.4 – 1.21.10, so it does not cover the versions Qolify supports. Fullbright is also client-side and open source, but released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and built for 1.19 – 26.1.2, so it focuses on brightness rather than a set of interface changes. MyZoom is another client-side, MIT-licensed option for 1.20.1 – 1.21, and it covers zoom where Qolify bundles zoom with its other features.

Does Qolify have to be installed on the server?

No. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy.

Does Qolify work with Mod Menu?

Yes. Mod Menu is optional, and with it installed Qolify adds compatibility with its settings screen.
