PvP Toggle
by Vilantious
PvP Toggle lets each player turn player-versus-player combat on or off, and server owners can force the setting for the whole server, for chosen dimensions or for single players.
What it does
Players choose for themselves whether PvP is enabled, and the choice can be made persistent so it survives a reconnect. A combat flag keeps a player engaged after a hit, and toggling PvP off while flagged is blocked with a disconnect reason, so the flag cannot be dodged. Name tags are colored to show each player's PvP state, using the vanilla team system.
Server owners can override player choices with a global setting that forces PvP off for everyone, a per-dimension setting that forces PvP in named dimensions, and a pet protection rule that treats a tamed mob's safety as tied to its owner's PvP state. The mod is server-side only: the server needs it, and players join without installing anything. Fabric API is required, and LuckPerms is optional for managing permissions. Files are published for Fabric only, and the latest build is 1.6.1+26.3 for 26.3, with releases covering 1.20.1 – 26.3.
Key features
Persistent PvP preference
Each player can switch PvP on or off, and the chosen state is kept between sessions.
Colored name tags
Name tags are colored by PvP state through vanilla teams, so nearby players can see who is open to combat.
Combat flagging
A flagged player cannot disable PvP until the flag duration ends, and the disconnect reason explains the block.
Server-wide and dimension overrides
A global setting forces PvP off for every player, and specific dimensions can be forced to PvP regardless of player choice.
Pet protection
Tamed mobs are protected according to their owner's PvP state, so pets follow the owner's setting.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners running Fabric who want players to control their own PvP exposure, and who may want per-dimension or server-wide overrides. Single-player players gain nothing from it, since the mod runs on the server.
How it compares
PvPControl is server-side only and under the MIT License, covering 1.20 – 1.21.11, so it targets an older range than PvP Toggle. Duely is server-side only and open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, with files only for 1.21.9 – 1.21.10. PvpSys is server-side only under the Apache License 2.0, covering 1.21 – 26.2.

What the author says
A mod that lets players toggle PvP individually, while offering some neat extra features that I reckon you may find useful. I am also aware that quite a few mods do something similar, but I felt like I could make something beyond a simple toggle. There's also the pvptoggle.op.exempt permission node that marks you as…
