With PolyChess, a server can host chess matches that players play with friends, using Polymer.

What it does

PolyChess is a server-side chess minigame for Fabric and Quilt. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing anything. Polymer is required and must be installed alongside it.

Builds cover 1.21.1 – 26.3 across 14 release versions, and snapshot builds are published. The code is open source under the MIT License, with source code and an issue tracker linked from the project.

    Chess boards and pieces run on the server, so matches can be played between players on that server.

  2. Polymer-based decorations

    New decorative chess content is built on Polymer, so clients see the pieces without needing the mod.
