Polls and Voting

by Silabear

Polls and Voting lets server players run multiple-choice votes through a book in a multiplayer world.

FabricForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalCreative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.01.17 – 1.19.3

What it does

A player receives a book that is used to build a poll. The first page holds the poll title, and up to five following pages each hold one option, for example yes or maybe. Dropping the book and holding Q starts the poll, so players can vote on server decisions without a separate command. The mod is a simple utility datapack that adds this way to make polls in multiplayer, and it is published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt across nine release versions, 1.17 – 1.19.3.

Key features

  1. Book-based poll setup

A written book holds the title on its first page and the answer choices on the pages that follow.

  2. Poll start with Q

Dropping the book and holding Q starts the poll for the players on the server.

  3. Data pack option

The same poll system is also available as a data pack for server platforms that do not run a mod loader.

What the author says

You will be given a book. On the first page of that book, you write the poll title. On the following pages (up to 5 pages), you write the poll options (for example “yes”, “no”, “maybe”). Then you can drop the book (hold and press Q), and the poll will start.
