PocketDice
by Semarina
PocketDice lets players roll dice in chat, with rolls shared only with nearby players inside a configurable radius.
What it does
Players type a dice notation such as 2d6 or d20 in chat, and the result is posted with color-formatted text. The notation supports a default, a maximum number of dice and a maximum number of faces, and shorthand forms are accepted. Anti-spam limits keep a single player from flooding the chat with rolls.
Each roll is broadcast only to players in the same world within a radius set in the config, so a tabletop-style tabletop session can run on a shared server without the whole server seeing every result. Per-player locale detection selects the language of the messages, using MiniMessage styling, and translations can be added by server owners.
PocketDice is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric and Quilt, plus Paper, Purpur and Folia as server platforms. Files cover 1.21 – 26.3 across 17 release versions, and snapshot builds are not part of that list.
Key features
Dice notation in chat
Rolls use the XdY form, with defaults and limits for dice count and faces that the server can set.
Proximity broadcasts
Results reach only players in the same world inside a configurable radius, keeping rolls local.
Localized messages
Each player sees messages in their detected locale, styled with MiniMessage, and new languages can be added.
Roller sound effect
An optional sound plays for the roller only, with its sound, volume and pitch configurable.
Update checker
A console and admin notification appears when a newer build is available, so server staff can update in time.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners who run tabletop-style games on Paper, Purpur or Folia, and players in those sessions who want shared dice rolls without a separate tool.
How it compares
VoxasVoice is a Fabric mod with client and server environment under the MIT License, published for 1.21 – 26.1.2, and it does not run on server platforms like PocketDice does. SoundAdjuster is client-side only and open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with files for 1.21.11 – 26.1, so it covers sound handling rather than dice. Dyeable Dice is server required with optional client support, under the MIT License, across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.21.11 – 26.3.
