PlayerTimeLimit

by tntnetta

Server owners who want to cap daily play time can use PlayerTimeLimit, a Fabric mod that sets a per-player allowance and resets it each day.

FabricServer-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Each player gets a configurable daily amount of playtime on the server. Warnings are sent before the time runs out, messages can be customized, and the player is kicked automatically once the allowance ends. The daily reset follows a configured timezone, and a BossBar shows the remaining time on screen.

Players are tracked by UUID, so a limit still applies to a player who is offline and cached on the server. Every PlayerTimeLimit command begins with plt, and autocompletion of player names works for players who are not currently online. Each command needs its own permission, which can be granted through a permissions plugin such as LuckPerms. The mod also exposes a public API that other mods can use to read or change these times.

The mod is server-side only: clients need nothing installed, and it runs on Fabric for 1.20.1. It requires LuckPerms and fabric-permissions-api. The code is not open source, and it is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Daily playtime allowance

Each player receives a configurable daily amount of time on the server, and the allowance resets each day.

  2. Warnings and automatic kick

Warnings are sent before time expires, and the player is removed from the server automatically when the allowance is used up.

  3. Timezone-based reset

The daily reset happens at a time set by the configured timezone, so limits follow the server's local day.

  4. BossBar time display

A BossBar shows the remaining time, and the messages it displays can be customized.

  5. Command interface and API

Commands start with plt and autocomplete players, even offline ones. A public API lets other mods manage the times.
