Player Mark
by Dastych
Player Mark lets players permanently mark an item with their name using the Fletching Table, so the owner's name appears in the item's lore.
What it does
Using an item on a Fletching Table, except when the target is a block, binds the item to the player who signs it and displays that owner's name directly in the item's description. Once an item is marked, its ownership cannot be changed by anyone, including the original player. Blocks are ignored, so a block cannot be marked this way. The mechanic suits survival servers, roleplay, trading and anti-theft setups, since ownership stays fixed on the item itself.
The mod runs on Fabric for version 1.21.7 only, and the latest file is 1.8, published 2026-04-06. It is a client and server mod, so the server and every player need it. It has no required dependencies beyond its own commands and configuration, and it synchronizes automatically on multiplayer servers. Player Mark is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
Key features
Item signing
Players sign an item at the Fletching Table, which records their name as the item's owner.
Permanent ownership
Once an owner is set, the mark cannot be removed or reassigned, not even by the original player.
Visible owner name
The owner's name is written into the item's lore, so anyone holding the item can read who marked it.
Block-safe behavior
Blocks are excluded from marking, so the table only affects items players carry.
Multiplayer sync
Ownership data synchronizes automatically on servers without extra setup.

Use cases
Survival and anti-theft
Players can mark valuable tools so a stolen item still shows its rightful owner in its lore.
Roleplay and trading
Marked goods let traders and roleplay groups show who made or owns an item.
Who it’s for: Server owners and players running survival, roleplay or trading servers who want a fixed owner name on items. Players on single-player worlds can also use it, since the mod works without a server.
