PlantusMaximus

by sognefej

With PlantusMaximus, a single tool action can plant or till a configurable area of farmland, saving the player repeated clicks on large plots.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.16.4 – 1.16.5

What it does

PlantusMaximus extends how farming tools act on blocks. Players can choose whether a hoe or tool tills a configurable area, and whether a crop is planted across a set of tiles in one action. The radius and the shape of the area are adjusted in the mod's settings, with the tools configured separately from one another. The mod also covers how tool durability is spent during these multi-block actions, and it can be turned off entirely.

The mod is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.16.4 and 1.16.5. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Server owners can limit which block interactions players may trigger, and can use whitelists or blacklists to decide which items and tools the behavior applies to. The source code and issue tracker are public. The project is open source under the MIT License, and the latest Fabric file is 1.0.1-1.16.5 for 1.16.5, published 2021-02-08.

Key features

  1. Area planting

A single action can plant crops across a configurable area of tilled soil rather than one block at a time.

  2. Area tilling

Tools can till a configurable area in one action, with the radius and pattern adjusted in the settings.

  3. Per-tool configuration

Radiate column modes and other behavior can be set for each tool or item separately, and preview outlines show the affected blocks before use.

  4. Item whitelists and blacklists

Server owners can restrict the behavior to chosen items and tools, or exclude particular ones from it.

  5. Durability and farmland options

Tool durability can be canceled for multi-block actions, and farmland decay can be delayed for a set time.
