Planetary Diaries

Players find an abandoned spaceship in the Overworld that leads into a space environment made of several planets spread far apart. Each planet has its own biomes, structures and resources. Travel between planets is done with an Elytra, since the planets float separately in space, so players are advised to bring one before entering the ship. The mod is aimed at focused exploration and survival over a series of alien worlds, with a survival progression that runs across them.

The content includes new blocks, tools, armor sets and creatures, along with boss fights that can be found while exploring. Some structures are tied to the story: crashed spaceships with their crew, sometimes guarded by infected crewmembers, crashed probes holding loot and lore clues, alien temples with puzzles and traps, and research stations that may still hold equipment. The author describes the mod as inspired by classic space mods of the Galacticraft style, updated for modern Minecraft.

Planetary Diaries runs on Fabric for 1.20 – 1.20.6 and is server-side only, so players join without installing it. Its files are released under the BSD 2-Clause License and the project is not open source.
